Pete was born and raised in Leicester, England, and was encouraged to draw and paint by his grandfather, a wildlife artist, when he was a young boy. His mother, an avid gardener, befriended a female blackbird with a single white feather,
developing such a rapport that the bird returned with her young, for years, bringing the wild to the kitchen window. Pete
attended Countesthorpe College, an experimental and progressive high school rich in the visual and performing arts.
He next studied Electronic Engineering, landing a job with a multi-national company and after relocating to the U.S. moved to South Carolina, spending his time planning facilities for new manufacturing locations in China and India. Retiring in 2017 enabled Pete to spend time creating art, beginning with photographing birds, then working in colored pencil, watercolor, and pastels.
Pete serves on the board as an active member of the Artist Collective | Spartanburg. He has three sons, all graduates of Spartanburg High: Simon, Chris and Ian. He is married to artist, Shannon Patrick.
